Summer Arabic Intensive
Accommodations Page Banner Image

Housing for students of the Summer Arabic Intensive is provided by Zaytuna College, and housing costs are included in the total cost for the program. We also offer a tuition-only option for students who wish to make their own residential accommodations. Arabic Intensive housing is a cost-efficient convenience that fosters a community of learning outside the classroom. Zaytuna College strongly encourages all students, including those in the San Francisco Bay Area, to take advantage of this aspect of the program’s design. Students are also encouraged to visit the College Life section of this website to learn more about living and studying in Berkeley.

Roommates back to top

If you would like to share a room with friends or family members also enrolled in the Summer Arabic Intensive, you may request up to one roommate on the Application for Admission. Please note, however, that roommate preferences cannot be guaranteed because space is limited and applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Orientation Session back to top

A mandatory orientation session takes place prior to the first day of class and covers topics that include housing, student policies, and living in Berkeley. More information about the orientation will be provided to students upon acceptance into the program.

Late Arrivals / Early Departures back to top

Successful completion of the Arabic Intensive requires 100 percent attendance. If schedules at students' home universities or places of employment require late arrival or early departure, please note this on your application. Priority for admission may be given to students who are able to stay for the entire term.
